DipWSET, CMS Advanced Sommelier, Vinitaly IWA
Brie’s love for wine was sparked in her early 20s when she worked in hospitality. She began exploring her new-found interest in wine by enrolling in the WSET levels 1 and 2. Very quickly, wine turned from a curiosity into a passion, and with that came her decision to complete the WSET Diploma. Keen to see other wine education paths, and to combine her wine studies with her hospitality background, she began her journey with the Court of Master Sommeliers. Now she proudly holds the ‘Green Pin’- the Advanced Sommelier designation - with the goal of becoming a Master Sommelier.
Brie has had an extensive career working in fine dining and has been Head Sommelier in some of the top restaurants in Ontario, including Langdon Hall in Cambridge and GEORGE in Toronto.
A visit to Piedmont ignited her love affair with Italian wines. She attended Vinitaly International Academy where, in 2016, she earned the title of Italian Wine Ambassador. She has since worked in Italy both as an Italian Wine Panelist and as a Judge for Vinitaly Five Star Wine Awards. She continues to share her passion for the diverse and fascinating native wine grapes of Italy, along with her life-long pursuit of studying and celebrating the vast and wonderful world of wine.
Outside of wine Brie loves her family, her friends, good food, good books, and exploring new places.
