WSET Level 2 Award in Wines and Spirits
Course Fee: $695
The fee includes the following:
- Course book and study guide
- Systematic Approach to Tasting Wine® Level 2 laminated grid
- Access to the WSET's London School Online Classroom
- Access to Adventure in Wine's Student Portal
- Email access to an Adventure in Wine educator
- Certificate and lapel pin upon successful completion
The fee doesn't cover wine cost. We recommend that you taste a broad range of wines over the course of the program . At a minimum, we recommend that you taste two wines per week. Share your bottle with friends and family once you've completed your wine notes!
The course specifications have a list of all wines that are covered in the program. On the Student Portal you will also find the wines that we are tasting in class if you are looking for specific examples.
There are ways of tasting wine without having to buy the entire bottle. Your local restaurant may be willing to pour you samples of various wines if you explain that you are a wine student. You could start a small wine tasting group where everyone shares in the cost of the wine. And if you are fortunate enough to have an LCBO with a tasting bar, that is a great opportunity to taste while still keeping the costs down.

Adventure in Wine is very pleased to offer WSET Level 2 online that will be given by WSET's very own London School.
The course is based around a 5-week structured online program and we recommend six hours study per week to cover the online activities and read the relevant chapters in the textbook. There are weekly tasks and a group tasting area where you can post your wine tasting notes. As well, there are multiple choice feedback tests and videos to help you prepare for the final test.
The course follows a weekly structure, but it allows you to work ahead or catch up on the activities and forums. There are no set times to log into the course as there are no live chats or webinars.
The webinar is 5 weeks that you can access at any time during the week as it isn't live. Once the 5-week seminar is finished, you will have access to all the materials for a year but will no longer have access to the online classroom.
How it Works
Once you register, we will courier you the course materials. A few days before the course is set to start, you will receive an email directly from WSET providing you with your log-in information. You will also receive an email from Adventure in Wine with your log-in information for our Student Portal.
For the duration of this course, there will be a dedicated Educator from who will follow your progress in your activities and give you relevant feedback.
The Q&A Forum is open to the group to answer any questions related to the course, but it will also be monitored by the course Educator.
The Tasting Notes Forum is where you add your tasting notes, and should be used on a regular basis. There is a minimum of five entries required (at least one entry per week).
Each week you have activities that are intended to test your knowledge and understanding of the material.
The recap quiz at the end of each week can be attempted as many times as you wish. These tests are graded, so do them to the best of your ability.
The Mock Multiple Choice Practice test (week 5) consists of 50 multiple choice Level 2 questions covering the topics listed in the specification. It can be attempted as many times as you wish. This is the same number of questions you will have in the actual examination.
As well as all the materials provided by WSET, you will also have access to Adventure in Wine's Student Portal which has many resources to help you with your studies. You will also have access to an Adventure in Wine Educator help you on your journey.
Students write exams in person on specified dates based on our in-class course schedule. You will be able to write your exam in Toronto, Burlington, Kitchener or Prince Edward County. If these exam dates aren't convenient, we can provide custom exam dates for an additional fee.
Exam Locations and Dates
You must register your intent to write the exam 15 days prior to the exam date by emailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org. You will be charged a $50 administration fee if you fail to show up to the exam or you cancel or postpone with fewer than 15 days notice.
If you are registering more than one person, please add them one at a time. Forms need to be completed for each student.
